A good book

Last night I finished the book I bought in France. When I picked it up in the supermarket I didn't expect to finish it; it was just a random novel that I thought I'd read a bit of and learn a few new words from. Given my general ambivalence towards finishing novels, I had believed finishing a French one was pretty damn unlikely.
But it just got better and better until I cast my dictionary aside 'cos it was really exciting at the end, and I wanted to find out what happened! Cool. It's called Cosmetique de l'Ennemi, by the way. By somebody called Amelie Nothombe, I think. Heartily recommendable to anybody who wants a shot at reading a French book. It's quite short, and is mostly dialogue, so there's no annoying difficult descriptive prose to plough through.
Smashing stuff!
