20 years ago I was 8 years old and
Had just started a new school a few months earlier.
Had recently joined a choir called the Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus.
Was knitting a yellow bunny at school for my Auntie's baby due in April (my big strapping cousin Barry).
Was understudying the role of Clara in Scottish Opera's stage production of Massenet's Werther

15 years ago I was 13 years old and
Had utterly terrible social phobia. My diary entry for 22/2/87 (the date is burned into my memory) reads: I'm hoping this will be the first Sunday of the year I won't cry.
Pretending I was someone else entirely at drama college on Saturdays: confident, outgoing Anne.
Had spots sometimes.
Being persuaded by my Dad to take Physics ("if you don't know physics, you don't know anything") and German ("oh no please, Anne - if you never listen to another word I say, please please please take German instead of Latin. Yes I know you like Latin. But it's pointless. Please.")

10 years ago I was 18 years old and:
Had just had the most uneventful, boring birthday of my life.
On a year out, doing bugger all.
About to fall in love with my first girlfriend.

5 years ago I was 23 years old and:
Doing my first Spare Tyre theatre show.
Trying to find some way of doing music.
Living in a flat that rained on the inside.
Going to the pub and being told by Laura that I didn't have a ceiling anymore.

2 years ago I was 26 years old and:
Feeling ultra-poor and wondering if I should get a job.
starting a part-time maths degree
getting steadily fatter :oD
Recording Loosening Reason

Now I am newly 28 and:
Have just split with jhg
Looking forward to my last student loan repayment, in March.
Have almost accepted I will probably never be famous.
Am just realising that the stuff i put on the first list actually happened in 1983, when I was 9, and is therefore 19 years ago. But I can't be arsed to change it now. Ho hum.
